Bunnies Party on Bourbon Street
Just a brief note now, but the intrepid Bunnies did it (again?), winning the Urban Challenge National Championships in New Orleans on November 15th, 2003. FBTC teammates David Olds and Damian Garcia, aided by ground support bunny LBTM and a host of cotton-tailed supporters in New Orleans and L.A., finished first in the morning semifinal race and then came back just a few hours later to win the 7-team, winner-take-all final in heart-stoppingly dramatic fashion.
After 7 of the 12 checkpoints the bunnies were 25 minutes behind eventual 3rd-placers Team Google. Somehow they managed to make it up and beat the defending champs (the Beards) by just one second! After 6+ hours of racing it all came down to the final death sprint. Happily, Dave and D, were up to the challenge. $50,000 richer, the Bunnies partied it up on Bourbon Street that night.
